SHEILA RITCHIE
COACH
Sheila is a professor in the Department of Communication and Sociology at ACU. She has served as the coach of the ACU Debate team since 2018. Sheila currently holds a position on the Governing Board of the International Public Debate Association and, in 2021, was named Coach of the Year. Sheila has a passion for helping students achieve their potential, as well as helping them foster effective communicative skills to use in their future.
EMMA JAAX
CAPTAIN
Emma is a Junior, from San Antonio, TX, double majoring in Accounting and Finance with a Pre-Law concentration and minors in Public Service and Legal Studies. She is involved in a wide range of areas at ACU, including being a Duke Scholar of Finance, a Jack Pope fellow, Chief Justice of the SGA Judicial board, concertmaster for the ACU orchestra, a member of Delta Theta, and Vice President of College Republicans. Emma hopes to attend law school after graduation and work in intelligence.
THOMAS SORENSEN
CAPTAIN
Thomas is a Junior, from Lewisville, TX, double majoring in Business Management and Marketing on a pre-law track. During his time at ACU, Thomas has been involved in ACU College Republicans, his Fraternity, and many small groups. He hopes to attend Law School after graduation and plans to spend his first few years out of law school serving as a Prosecutor.
